Quantex Laboratries, an established provider  of testing services  for the presence of benzene (a known human carcinogen) in water  extends testing for the presence of benzene to include  beverage and soft drink products.  Benzene can form in beverages containing benzoate salts and ascorbic acid or erythorbic acid when exposed to high levels of temperature and light.

The FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) has been investigating benzene levels in soft drinks, flavored water, flavored soda, juice, and juice drinks and has found several beverages to contain concentrations of benzene above the US EPA's standard of 5 ppb for water. Quantex  provides testing to detect and quantitate levels of benzene down to  0.50 ppb.  For questions regarding benzene testing, please call 732-248-3335   or contact info@quantexlabs.com
